Emily was born and raised in Abbotsford and is very proud to be a founding partner at Albert & Co. Law LLP. After obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree from UBC in 2005, Emily graduated with honours and first-class standing from the University of Alberta Law School in 2008 and has been practising law since 2009, first in Alberta and then in British Columbia.

Emily’s practice is focused on estate planning and estate administration, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, representation agreements, and probate. Emily prides herself on her ability to break down complicated legal concepts into simple terms. She believes lawyers should be approachable and helpful.

​Emily is also a certified family law mediator. In mediation, families work with a neutral third-party professional to guide them in identifying the issues, facilitating effective communication, and reaching flexible, balanced, and personalised solutions. She is accredited by the Law Society of British Columbia as a certified Family Law Dispute Resolution Professional and serves Abbotsford as one of only a few lawyer-mediators.

Emily is passionate about giving back to her community and acts as the President of the Estate Planning Council of Abbotsford, the Vice President of Administration for the Abbotsford Minor Fastball Association, and sits on the Board of Directors of the Abbotsford Community Foundation. When she isn’t at the office or at a board meeting, Emily is busy travelling, hiking, and skiing with her husband and their three daughters.
